Abies balsamea Prostrata

Product Description

Abies balsamea Prostrata makes a superb low, slow growing variety. Dark green leaves, flatter on the branches than other balsamea varieties, give rise in spring to the usual acid green pom pom young growth of this species.  Will spread 10-15cm a year, but can be lightly pruned if needed. A great plant in the alpine garden, or general planting, particularly with rocks and water, but holds its own in many situations. Will even take a bit of shade.
