Hosta Amethyst Gem is a lovely vigorous small variety. Forms a dense clump of glaucous green leaves that carry masses of clear amethyst 30cm high flowers in June. Makes a superb foreground Hosta for5 the border or a good container plant. If being planted out in the border best grown for a season in a pot to build up a bit of size, then it should be robust enough to plant out successfully.
