Product Description
Hosta nigrescens is a curious variety. Believed to be a Japanese species, but there is still much mystery about Hosta species in the wild, but for the time being it seems to hold on to that designation. It is actually a decent plant, it has long, rigid upright petioles that hols leaves which sit rather horozontally, are pointed and cupped, smooth, of good substance with pleasing veining. They are not a strong blue, more of a greyish blue, but pleasing nevertheless. It makes a good specimen in the ground and looks great in a pot thanks to its erect form. One of its progeny is the much better known Krossa Regal, and there are some other interesting but rare crosses.
