Product Description
Hosta September Sun is an older variety, introduced way back in 1985 (a long time ago in the world of modernĀ Hostas varieties), but it is so good I have decided to revive it and build stock of it again. It is a sport of August Moon, and as such shares the same good substance and reliability as a grower. The plant emerges green in the spring and the gold of the centre builds up over the season, hence the name. The one shown here was photographed in early June, and grown in a light shade position. It has a good texture to the leaf, slightly roughty toughty, without looking dry. Well worth growing, and demonstrates that many of the older Hosta selections still amply earn their place in the garden.
