Hosta of great virtue. A tetraploid plant, having exceptionally thick leaves, dark green with a striking, broad white margin. In my opinion far superior in some ways to the much more regularly seen Patriot. The form we offer as Minuteman is particularly dark green and the edge a clean white, making a bold statement. I have noticed with this plant, as with other tetraploids, that the root system tends not to be as extensive as with normal diploid Hosta varieties, so it is important that it gets enough water in the spring when it is growing. These short roots make it an ideal container plant though, providing it gets well looked after.
