Hosta Thomas Hogg is one of our oldest varieties. Now almost invariably sold as the more correct undulata Albomarginata, we have had this stock on the nursery for around 50 years, and back in those days it was always sold as Thomas Hogg, so for nostalgic and historical reasons I’m sticking with that! Some of the more venerable Hostaphiles in the UK also use the name. Anyway, it is an excellent variety with its bright, fresh green foliage and snow white margins it really stands out. Also it is reliable and vigorous and bulks up quickly, can be used to fill entire narrow borders. A great plant in either a container or in the ground.
